Seaby version 3 (Boardwalk Sea Ball)
3 (10.19.2010) They changed the window size this morning. Easy fix.
2 (6.16.2009) Fixed this morning's changed clams and coral. You may notice a missed clam once in a while, but try not to worry about it. I wanted to get this file out quickly and will look in to it for a possible version 3. Thanks for making me aware.
1 (5.19.2009) Boardwalk Sea Ball rotates five different mini-games inside and is a competition against a room full of different-skilled humans that can see your performance. Therefore, Seaby's game Speed option was purposely written to allow you the control of how well (or terrible) the auto will perform. The default is set to 50 speed for a reason, which is more than enough to collect 100 tickets per full 9.5-minute game and maximize rank without drawing too much attention. For example, at 100 speed, I discovered that Seaby could score an insane 1,500+ Clam Slam points. Yet after many long hours of playing against dozens of different-skilled humans, I found that the true human-like Clam range was only between 200-1,100 points. So I decided that the best way to handle this was dancing around the Perfect! zone. Since all five mini-games have an extra "Perfect" bonus for completing each level in a special way, Seaby's 50 speed was adjusted to barely accomplish each Perfect. Example: Clam Slam requires 500+ points for a Perfect bonus and the default 50 speed should score between 400-600 points every time. Logically, this means that the base of 50 speed should average you a Perfect bonus just about every other level randomly, especially since there is some luck involved in most of them. If you want less perfects, slide your speed lower. If you want more perfects, slide the game Speed option higher (60 or 70 will show a noticeable increase). I do not recommend going higher than 80-85, since I never found a human opponent that was capable of beating such high scores and perfects. Yes, I found some people that were 75-80 speed compatible... but they are very few and you'll just be bringing attention to yourself. I repeat, do not crank this auto to 100 speed because no human can score 1,685 points in Clam Slam and your room will explode in anger. Also, the Control key on your keyboard pauses the auto and I recommend keeping your mouse completely off the game window. Here's some tidbit information on how the intel works in each level:
  • Battle Boats: Since this one is Plinko style, your ball can be thrown around without much control. Therefore, I decided to go for the far sides (left or right), depending on the slot numbers below. Seaby will choose the farthest side that has the most 3's, 4's and 5's showing to keep far away from the 1's and 2's. This helps ensure that your boat moves the fastest and gives the best chance for a Perfect. If both sides have 1's or 2's blocking them, the auto will shoot for the lane that averages the highest score and hope for the best. Note: Choose a higher game Speed (60-70) to shoot the ball faster for more Perfects, because the 1's and 2's become more frequent as the timer dies.
  • Duck Shot: For now, Seaby will kill off the two 5 ducks on the opening two shots. Since they are removed, this gives you a better chance of accomplishing the 17-streak needed for the Perfect bonus. Afterward, the auto will shoot any matching duck that comes first until there are none remaining. Of the five mini-games, this one is currently the hardest for Seaby to collect the Perfect bonus (usually only 15-20% of the time). I may change the intel later, but I don't think it's really needed at this time since the auto is very capable already.
  • Coral Corral: My favorite to watch, since the auto has such great shot precision. Seaby starts at the top and counts how many colored coral remain on the highest row. It selects one coral piece at random and then checks to see if another exists directly to the right or left as well. If not, the auto should nail that single piece directly on the head. But if there is an adjacent coral, Seaby will slide the shot over to make sure both are hit in the same shot. The bumpers will make or break your Perfect and are totally out of my control, but you will appreciate watching Seaby nail that final piece of coral right on the head with direct accuracy! Increasing the game Speed on this one will shoot more balls a little faster, but those bouncing bumpers are truly in charge of keeping you from removing all the colored coral for the Perfect.
  • Clam Slam: No matter what, the auto ignores all negative red clams and the smallest 10-pointed yellow. Seaby simply looks at the targets and shoots at any open clam yielding the most points at that very moment. If there is a yellow 15 and 25 up there, it will prioritize the 25 (of course). Sometimes, a clam is already closing and it may barely miss the shot, but this one is definitely Seaby's highest-scoring mini-game. So be careful when you are increasing the game Speed option, as you will be shooting more balls much faster... and could score way higher than any human.
  • Squid Squasher: Pretty simple intel. Seaby just shoots the squid that is farthest to the right. The default Speed of 50 should barely keep them off your pearls. Once in a while, a couple of well-timed red squids will get through and ruin your Perfect bonus. If you don't like this, just crank your Speed to 60-70 and you'll have perfects 100% of the time.
